A year in the life of PHC Vacuum Service
Hello 2024 and welcome back to all of you now that January is nearly over and Spring will be with us soon. Now that’s a nice thought for us all!
What a year 2023 was here at PHC. A quick recap for all our loyal customers, partners, supporters, staff and followers on what happened along the way.
The business has grown, with new customers, new staff, new vans, new awards, new partnerships and new plans. Thank you to all of you for supporting us through 2023.
As many of you know we founded PHC back in 1989 and Tracey & I still run the business ourselves 35 years later. We’re proud to be a family business and are also now the largest independent vacuum service & repair centre in the UK.
Kent is still our home and at the core of what we do with HQ based in Rainham where it has always been. As well as our home county, our PHC vacuum service and repair memberships are now available in parts of Essex, Surrey, Sussex and SE London and we try and help as many customers as possible in looking after their vacuum cleaners (one of the most prized possessions in the home no less!).
In late 2023 we were rewarded with not one, but three awards. Two from SME Southern Enterprise – winning both Best Independent Home Services Business, South East England and Best Independent Vacuum Service & Repair Centre, South East England; and Corporate Live Wire Global Awards, Best Vacuum Cleaner Company. A great accolade for the whole business and awards that are close to our core values of taking care of our customers and offering a service that is both environmentally sound and great value for money.
We were also shortlisted as a finalist for the Kent Business Awards in the category of Best Family Business 2023. Delighted to have made it through to the last few and proud to be recognised as a family business with our son Mitchell now also involved in a lot of the day-to-day management of the field engineers and sales office.
There are eight brightly branded PHC vans out on the road, give them a toot if you see the boys out and about. Our team of eight field engineers are consistently rated 5 stars across Google, Facebook and Yell and we’re very proud of the way they all uphold PHC’s strong reputation. Thanks guys, we couldn’t do it without you.
In other news, we’re in ongoing discussions with partners about franchise possibilities for PHC Vacuum Services so that other parts of the country can benefit from our home service. Our most common conversations with people who come across PHC are “We didn’t know you could have your vacuum cleaner serviced.” and “Do you cover our area please as we’d like to book.” Hopefully we can do something about that in 2024. December and January are always busy as vacuum cleaners have no rest during December with the arrival of a shedding fir tree and numerous guests traipsing through homes for days on end. Our assistance is required and we’re happy to help.
